Today it is snowing but not accumulating. It has snowed for most of the day with less than 1" accumulation. The Willow area has about 13" of snow cover which leaves us about 5" short of being able to open for snow vehicle use. This past weeks cold temperatures which dropped down to about -25 degrees, cleared up most of the overflow and non existent ice conditions on the smaller creeks. Today out on the lakes, the overflow was frozen and left a hard bumpy surface with some powder still on top. Today was the first in several it rose to above 0 degrees, with a high of about 5 degrees.

Snow was heavier south of Willow during this snow event.

Ski trails have been broken by skiers and snowshoers but are not yet compacted and groomed by machine. We still need more snow to get the equipment out on the trails, otherwise our machines will ruin the current skiing opportunity.

The Willow area state park are still closed to the use of snow vehicles, and the gate located at mile 2.2 is closed for travel into the park.

If the weather cooperates, we're heading up to Big Lake for the Anchorage Snowmobile Club's Riders Skill run around the lake. Hopefully, we'll have enough snow and no overflow problems. May even find the begining of the trail to Redshirt. :)

We didn't make it up to Big Lake for the club ride last week. The Rider's Skill class has been rescheduled for Jan 7, 2006. Hopefully by then we'll have enough snow.

In the mean time we decided to start some painting projects in the house. That is keeping us plenty busy.
